Nyack, NY- The Lady Shock had a slow start and struggled shooting against Nyack College with a final score of 55-37.
The Lady Shock had a slow start and finished the first quarter with an early deficit of 18-5. WAU was able to contend competitively in the last three quarters, but were unable to battle back from falling behind early on. The Lady Warriors jumped on the Shock early, with Bryanna Brown leading the way with 15 points, shooting 67% from behind the arc (6-9).
The Lady Shock had little response, shooting 23.1% from the field (12-52), 24% from the three-point range (6-25), and 46.7% from the free throw line (7-15). Candice Berner (SO/Frederick, MD) was the sole scorer in double digits, finishing with 13 points, shooting 43% from long range (3-7). Courtney Jenkins (JR/Philadelphia, PA) cleaned up the boards finishing the contest with 13 rebounds and 7 points.
The Lady Shock return to action in honor of seniors Olivia Turner (SR/Clinton, MD) and Emily Piazza (SR/Newport News, VA) as they compete in their final regular season game at home against Trinity University on Thursday at 7pm.
