Uniontown, PA- Brian Bridgeforth (SR/Washington, DC) was voted Player of The Year by the United States Collegiate Athletics Association for the second year in a row. Tyrus Fleetwood (SR/Hagerstown, MD) and Elliott Meredith (SR/Bedford, OH) were both named honorable mention.
Bridgeforth, has had an exceptional senior campaign and has surpassed many milestones this season. Bridgeforth, scored a season high 31 points in the first round of the conference tournament against Central Christian College. He joined the 1,000 point club earlier this season and has been averaging a double-double in every contest. Bridgeforth, ranks nationally in eight statistical categories including the #1 leader in blocked shots per game. Bridgeforth is also currently on the watch list for the prestigious Bevo Francis Award.
Fleetwood, has been an exceptional floor general all season leading the team. Fleetwood, is currently averaging 15 ppg, 5 rpg, 3 apg, and poured in 23 points to lead the Shock in the conference championship. Meredith, is currently averaging 12 ppg, 6rpg, 2 apg, and netted 20 points in the in the conference championship.
The Shock will await their first round opponent for the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Championships held in Point Look, MO March 8-14th at 6 pm.
