Takoma Park, MD- The Washington Adventist University men's soccer team bounced back from yesterday's loss against McDaniel College with a win over ODAC member Emory & Henry College. The Shock defeated the visiting Wasps Thursday evening by a final score of 3-0.
In the first half, the Shock struck first when Gianfranco Castillon assisted Daniel Moreira on a goal to give the Shock a 1-0 lead. Both teams battled for most of the half until Moreira scored another goal assisted by Francisco Vieira to extend the lead 2-0. The Shock led the Wasps at halftime 2-0.
In the second half, Francisco Vieira netted an unassisted goal to propel the Shock past the Wasps 3-0. The Shock held the advantage in shots for the contest 20-14. Goalkeeper Reynero Pacheco recorded the shutout finishing the contest with six saves. With the win the Shock improve to 5-5 overall on the season. The Shock will return to action Monday when they travel to face Shepherd University.
