WAU’s Jalen Anderson Earns CAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

TAKOMA PARK, MD – Washington Adventist University's Jalen Anderson has been named the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Defensive Player of the Week, a recognition of his outstanding defensive contributions over a four-game stretch that saw the Shock claim three victories.

 

The Charlottesville, Virginia, native was a force on the defensive end, averaging 3.8 rebounds, 0.8 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game. Anderson's efforts were particularly impactful in key moments, starting with a five-rebound performance in a narrow 68-66 win over Cheyney University on Monday.

 

On Saturday, Anderson showcased his defensive prowess with three steals and two blocked shots in WAU's 85-70 victory against Fisher College. He followed that with another standout effort on Sunday, grabbing five rebounds in the Shock's thrilling 73-71 overtime win against Florida National University during the WAU CAC Classic.

 

Anderson's consistent defensive impact has been instrumental in the Shock's success, solidifying his reputation as a key contributor to WAU's lineup. His recognition as Defensive Player of the Week highlights his dedication and skill in critical moments, providing momentum as WAU continues their season.
