A former standout at WAU and Takoma Academy, Liriano brings strong local ties, high-level playing experience, and a passion for developing student-athletes.

At Takoma Academy High School, just minutes from WAU’s campus, Liriano scored over 1,000+ points and dished out 500+ assists in 3 years of Varsity Basketball, even leading the DMV in total assists as a junior. He committed to WAU after averaging 17 points and 6 assists per game as a senior.

Liriano was a four-year starter at WAU, playing both guard positions. He helped lead the team to wins over multiple top-25 NAIA schools and two NCAA Division I programs. He has three national tournament appearances and was named to the All-Tournament Team as a senior. Liriano currently holds the record for All-Time Wins in program history (92-40).

Since joining the coaching staff, he’s helped guide WAU back to the national tournament and led the JV program to its first-ever .500 season. Known for his energy, leadership, and deep understanding of the game, Coach Liriano lives by the motto “Opportunities don’t go away, they just go to the next man.”
