LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - The three-seeded WAU men's soccer team begins their history-making debut run in the 2023 CAC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament on Thursday, November 9, 2023, as they take on second-seeded Bellevue University in the semifinals. Kickoff between the Shock and the Bruins is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EST at the Grizzly Soccer Complex in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

WAU is making its postseason debut after compiling a 10-4-2 record while outscoring the opposition by a 77-9 margin during a regular season. George Tidmarsh anchors the Shock with 13 goals and six assists for 32 total points. Goalkeeper Gregorio Capponi has made 43 saves, allowed nine goals, and posted nine shutouts this fall.

Bellevue is the three-time defending CAC tournament champion and had an 11-5-2 record this fall to receive votes in the last NAIA Top 25 poll. The Bruins are riding a six-match winning streak, with each of their October wins being shutouts, and outscored the opposition by a 46-14 margin this season. Fletcher Hedge leads the team with seven goals and one assist. Goalkeeper Taariq Ganga has posted an 11-5-2 record, with seven shutouts, and made 62 saves.

The semifinal-round winning team will advance to play for the championship on Saturday, November 11, 2023, starting at 7 p.m., and face the #1 Florida National vs #4 Georgia Gwinnett match winner.
