WAU Men’s Soccer Earns No. 5 Seed in Continental Athletic Conference Tournament

Takoma Park, MD – Washington Adventist University's men's soccer team is gearing up for the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Tournament, having secured the number five seed. The Shock will travel to Lawrenceville, GA, to face top competition in the tournament held from November 9-13. This accomplishment highlights a season marked by resilience, teamwork, and standout performances under the leadership of CAC 2023-2024 Coach of the Year, Daniel Carroll.

 

Finishing the regular season with a record of 4-4-4, 1-0-3, the Shock has consistently demonstrated strength on both sides of the ball. Key contributions from players across the roster have propelled the team to this position, with players like team captain Joao Campana stepping up to deliver when it matters most. With a balanced mix of offensive prowess and defensive fortitude, the Shock are looking forward to competing against the best teams in the conference.

 

The Continental Athletic Conference Tournament will feature top teams vying for the title and a chance to advance to the NAIA national tournament. The Shock's path to the championship will be challenging, with intense matchups on the horizon, but WAU's squad is prepared to embrace the pressure. The first-round match on November 9th will feature #5 WAU facing #4 Talladega at 8 p.m. at Georgia Gwinnett College.

 

WAU's fans and the entire campus community are rallying behind the team as they head south for one of the most important events of the season. With the strong leadership of Coach Carroll and a roster of skilled and driven players, the team is well-prepared to compete at a high level and make its mark in Lawrenceville.
