WAU Men’s Soccer Falls to Chestnut Hill on the Road
Philadelphia, Pa. – The Washington Adventist University men's soccer team traveled to Chestnut Hill College on Tuesday night, where the Shock battled hard but came up short in a 6-0 loss to the Griffins.
Goalkeeper Michael Delcid kept WAU in the match early, making multiple saves in the opening minutes to deny Chestnut Hill's first wave of attacks. He collected stops on attempts from Terrence Doe, Mohamed Bility, and Ermir Hoti, holding the Griffins scoreless until the 16th minute when Kervening Thelistin broke through with the opening goal, assisted by Doe.
Delcid added several more key saves before halftime, but Chestnut Hill's pressure continued as WAU looked for counterattacking chances. Daniel Hirsch had WAU's first shot of the game in the 21st minute, while the Shock also earned a corner kick in the third minute to spark their offense. Despite these efforts, Chestnut Hill carried a 1-0 lead into the break.
Chestnut Hill extended its advantage early in the second half, with Luke Bodziak scoring in the 55th minute. Less than five minutes later, Bility doubled his tally to make it 3-0.
The Griffins continued to capitalize on their opportunities, as Abdoulaye Kamagate, Sebastian Carmona, and Johan Hutson each added goals in the final 30 minutes of play.
