WAU Men’s Soccer Secures 3-0 Road Win Over Manor College
JENKINTOWN, PA – Washington Adventist University men's soccer put together a strong two-way performance on Friday afternoon, blanking Manor College 3-0 on the road. The Shock leaned on efficient finishing and a stout defensive effort, with goalkeeper Michael Delcid anchoring the back line with 15 saves.
WAU broke through late in the opening half after both sides exchanged early looks. In the 37th minute, Kaleb Simpson buried the opener off a feed from Kemar King Jr., putting the Shock ahead 1-0. Just before halftime, WAU doubled its advantage as Daniel Hirsch finished calmly in the 44th minute, assisted by Victor Perez and Kemoi Jones.
Manor's frustration mounted when goalkeeper Aiden Holman was sent off in the 25th minute with a red card, forcing the Blue Jays to rotate personnel. WAU capitalized on the man advantage, heading into the break with a 2-0 lead.
The Shock continued to generate chances in the second half, with Simpson and Perez forcing saves from Manor's backup goalkeeper. The breakthrough came late in the match when Jadhell Martinez sealed the result in the 86th minute, slotting home a feed from Hirsch for his first goal of the season.
While WAU's attack produced 21 shots (13 on target), it was Delcid's commanding performance in goal that ensured the clean sheet. The senior stopped all 15 shots he faced, including several close-range efforts by Manor's Moussa Cherif and Kounda Doucoure, to preserve the shutout.
