WAU Men’s Cross Country Scores at Shenandoah Twilight Open
Winchester, Va. — Washington Adventist Men's Cross Country competed at the Shenandoah Twilight Open (6K) on Friday evening, placing 7th as a team (203 points) against a deep field headlined by meet-winner Dickinson (21 pts) and VMI (68 pts).
Felix McGhee paced the Shock, finishing 77th in 27:27.0, with a tight WAU pack close behind:
- Nehemiah Stein — 78th, 28:09.5
- Ian Sanchez — 79th, 28:11.2
- Zachary Aguy — 81st, 28:31.0
- Hurrich Engouen — 84th, 33:22.3
The compact 2–4 spread helped WAU secure its scoring five and close out the meet with encouraging depth through the middle of the lineup. VMI's Benjamin Hagerich won the individual title in 19:36.7.
Head Coach Omoleye "Rike" Akande praised the effort, but also challenged her team: "We collectively decided, we have to work harder! I am proud that we placed as a team, but we have more work to do."
WAU returns to action at the Delaware Invitational on Friday, September 19, aiming to tighten its scoring gap and continue building momentum for the fall slate.
