Bio
With a diverse and accomplished background in coaching, player development, and education, Coach Power brings a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted passion for the game to WAU Athletics.
Coach Power holds a Master of Arts in World Language Education from Valdosta State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the College of Coastal Georgia. His commitment to coaching excellence is reflected in his U.S. Soccer Federation certifications, having earned his USSF “C” License (2024) and USSF “D” License (2023).
Before joining WAU, Coach Power made a significant impact as a Head Coach with the Alexandria Soccer Association, where he led competitive teams and implemented advanced training curricula designed to elevate individual and team performance. He currently serves as a Virginia State Assistant Coach and Northern Virginia District Head Coach for the USYS Olympic Development Program (ODP), helping identify and develop top youth talent across the region.
Coach Power’s leadership on the high school level is equally notable. As Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach at Brunswick High School (GA), he guided the team to a historic second-place finish in the region and was named the 6A Georgia State Coach of the Year in 2022. His coaching journey also includes roles at the Southern Soccer Academy and as Director of the Hispanic Soccer League of Brunswick, where he oversaw operations and championed community engagement through sport.
A dedicated educator, Coach Power has taught Spanish at Northwood High School (MD) and Brunswick High School (GA), blending cultural enrichment with language instruction. Off the field, he is committed to community outreach and youth empowerment, having volunteered with Coastal Outreach Soccer to mentor at-risk youth through the game he loves.
Coach Power’s holistic approach to coaching—emphasizing athletic excellence, personal growth, and cultural understanding—perfectly aligns with the mission of Washington Adventist University. WAU Athletics is excited to have him at the helm of the Women’s Soccer program and looks forward to the impact he will have in shaping future generations of student-athletes.
