WAU Women’s Volleyball Falls to Montgomery College 3-0

Rockville, MD – The Washington Adventist University (WAU) women's volleyball team faced a tough challenge on Thursday, September 26, 2024, falling to Montgomery College in a 3-0 sweep on the road. The Raptors controlled the match from the start, with set scores of 25-13, 25-11, and 25-14, handing WAU a difficult loss.

Montgomery College set the tone early, taking the first set 25-13 with aggressive net play and strong serves. Despite efforts from Samiah and Ariynna Gross, who led WAU in kills and digs, the Shock couldn't overcome the early deficit.

In the second set, WAU continued to struggle with Montgomery's consistent pressure, falling 25-11. Jordyn Stafford worked hard to keep the offense in rhythm, but Montgomery's defense proved too tough to break through.

The final set saw Montgomery College pull away, securing a dominant 25-14 win to complete the sweep. WAU fought hard, but ultimately couldn't find their footing against a strong opponent.

Despite the loss, the Shock remain focused on their season goals. The Shock's record now stands at 5-4, and they'll look to bounce back in their next match against Regent University on Thursday, October 1 in Virginia Beach, VA.
