WAU Women’s Volleyball Falls to Regent University 3-0
Virginia Beach, VA – The Washington Adventist University (WAU) women's volleyball team faced a tough challenge on the road, falling to Regent University in straight sets (3-0) on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Despite a spirited effort, the Shock could not overcome Regent's strong play, dropping the match with set scores of 25-14, 25-23, and 25-4.
WAU started the first set with energy, keeping the score tight early on, thanks to strong defense and kills from Ariyanna and Samiah Gross. However, Regent's consistent serves and aggressive attacks gave them the edge, pulling away to win the first set 25-14.
In the second set, WAU showed promise, but Regent took control late to secure a 25-23 victory. Despite the efforts of Chanel Schmidt at the net and Jordyn Stafford guiding the offense, the Shock couldn't turn the tide.
The third set saw Regent dominate early, jumping to a quick lead that WAU could not overcome. With a final set score of 25-4, the Shock were handed their defeat, ending the match in Regent's favor.
With this loss, WAU's record now stands at 5-5. The Shock will look to bounce back in their next game home game hosting Hartford Community on Thursday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pitt.
