WAU Women’s Volleyball Falls to Harford Community College 3-0 in Home Match

Takoma Park, MD – Washington Adventist University (WAU) women's volleyball team suffered a tough defeat at home on Thursday, October 3, 2024, as they fell to Harford Community College in straight sets (3-0). Despite their best efforts, the Shock could not break through Harford's solid defense, with set scores of 25-14, 25-22, and 25-12.

WAU started the first set with intensity, keeping pace with Harford early. Key plays by Ariyanna and Samiah Gross helped the Shock stay competitive, but Harford pulled away midway through the set, winning 25-14.

In the second set, WAU gained momentum, leading the way for most of the set. In the end, Harford capitalized on a series of unforced errors. Despite strong efforts from Ariyanna Gross, who led the team in kills, Harford's efficient play extended their lead, taking the second set 25-22.

The third set saw WAU battle to stay in the game, but Harford's consistent serving and aggressive offense were too much for the Shock to overcome, leading to a 25-12 defeat and a 3-0 match result.

With the loss, WAU's record now stands at 5-6, 0-0. The Shock will aim to bounce back in a quick turnaround game hosting Monroe Community College on Friday, October 4.
