WAU Volleyball Falls to Division I Bowie State on the Road

Bowie, MD – Washington Adventist University volleyball took on NCAA Division I opponent Bowie State University on Tuesday night, falling in straight sets (25–6, 25–21, 25–14) in Bowie, MD. Despite the tough road test, the Shock showed stretches of fight and execution against the Bulldogs.

Bowie State's front line applied early pressure, forcing WAU into miscues while building momentum behind strong serving runs. Jordyn Shaeffer provided a spark for the Shock with a service ace and later connected on a kill from Lynell White, but the Bulldogs closed the opening frame on a decisive run to take it 25–6.

WAU responded with resilience in the second set, playing their most competitive stretch of the night. Ariyanna Gross caught fire, tallying multiple kills and back-to-back service aces that helped the Shock cut the deficit to three at 13–14. Zabria Fakeye and Candace Cabansag added timely kills at the net, while Jade Rios contributed a service ace to keep WAU within striking distance. Despite their late push, Bowie State edged the Shock to close the set, 25–21.

The final frame saw WAU continue to battle, highlighted by kills from Cabansag and Gross, as well as a service ace from Eden Perkins. However, the Bulldogs' consistent attack and service game carried them to a 25–14 set win, sealing the sweep.
