WAU Men’s Basketball Triumphs Over Fisher College in WAU CAC Classic

TAKOMA PARK, MD – The Washington Adventist University (WAU) men's basketball team claimed a well-earned 85-70 victory against Fisher College on Saturday, January 18, during the WAU CAC Classic at The Pitt. The win highlighted the Shock's balanced offense and defensive tenacity, giving the home crowd plenty to cheer about.

 

WAU came out strong in the first half, using an up-tempo offense and crisp ball movement to establish an early lead. The Shock's defense was equally effective, forcing Fisher College into contested shots and capitalizing on turnovers. By halftime, WAU had built a comfortable cushion, leading 43-35.

 

In the second half, Fisher College attempted to rally, but the Shock's consistency on both ends of the court kept them at bay. Senior guard Rande Harper led WAU with a game-high 26 points and eight rebounds, showcasing his scoring ability and leadership. Emanuel Hylton dominated inside, contributing 20 points, while Jayden Row-Perry and Jalen Anderson added 13 points each.

 

The Shock shot 47.6 percent (30-of-63) from the field, with six of its makes coming from long range. Harper led the Shock in scoring, finishing with 26 points, while Hylton followed with 20 points, five rebounds, and three assists.

 

Jayden Rowe-Perry (13), Jalen Anderson (13), Felix McGhee (5), Jaylin McNeil (3), Jordan Anderson (3), and James Quinn (2), also found the scoring column. Eight Shock players saw time on the floor.

 

The victory improves WAU's record and momentum heading into day three of the WAU CAC Classic. The Shock will face Florida National University on Sunday, January 19 in Takoma Park, at the Pitt at 4 p.m.
