TAKOMA PARK, MD: The WAU men's soccer team (2-0, 0-0) emerged victorious in a nail-biting encounter on August 24, 2023, with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Emory & Henry College. The match showcased the team's determination, skill, and resilience as they overcame a formidable opponent to secure a memorable victory.

Both teams displayed their intent to dominate the game from the opening whistle. Emory & Henry College started strongly, applying pressure on the Shock's defense and creating several scoring opportunities. However, the Washington Adventist goalkeeper, Gregorio Capponi, showcased his exceptional shot-stopping abilities, denying the Wasp's early attempts.
As the first half progressed, the Wasps began to find their rhythm and assert their presence on the field.
