WAU Men's Soccer Team Dominates Gallaudet University in Impressive 12-0 Victory in Washington, DC
WASHINGTON, DC - The WAU men's soccer team (5-1, 0-0) delivered an unforgettable performance on September 6, 2023, shutting out Gallaudet University (0-3, 0-0) with an impressive 12-0 victory.
From the get-go, the Shock made it clear that they were here to win. They applied relentless pressure and executed strategic ball movement to gain control early on. Their strikers effortlessly broke through the Bison's defense, catching them off-guard and quickly establishing a commanding lead 6-0 lead in the first 45 minutes.
Throughout the match, fans marveled in person and on the live stream at the exceptional finishing skills displayed by the Shock. They capitalized on numerous goal-scoring opportunities with precision, technique, and coordination – resulting in a series of breathtaking goals.

Captain Aguer Dau led the night with four goals, Federico Bushi scored three, Bartu Yakkan and Marlon Rodriguez scored two, and Ben Cooksley scored one. Giovanni Torrente let the night with three assists, and Riku Kawano, Cooksley, George Tidmarsh, Marcus Lloyd, Rodriguez, Stanley Pagett, and Eduardo Fontes recorded one.
In addition to their exceptional performance, the Shock demonstrated remarkable sportsmanship and respect towards their opponents and officials, ending the match with no penalties.

To purchase home game tickets, fans can visit the WAU Game Ticketing website (wauathletics.com/ticketing). Once you buy a ticket, you can print or save it to your mobile device. To gain entry to the event, you must be able to provide either the printed ticket or show the ticket on your mobile device.
WAU Students, Faculty, and staff will be free and sent season passes via email. You will need to show your WAU ID at the entrance to the stadium to gain access to home games for the 2023-2024 season.

Severe Weather Policies
In the event of severe weather at one of our outdoor facilities, a public address announcement will be made, and WAU athletics staff will provide all participants and spectators with further instructions.
Lightning: If lightning is present, play will be halted for 30 minutes from the most recent strike detected. All spectators must leave the seating area of any outdoor venue. It is recommended that all spectators seek shelter in the nearest building or inside personal vehicles.
